PerchFight is back! This year, the competition has a new format, with more participating teams all fired up to prove who rules the game in perch fishing.
This year’s format and rules:
This year, the competition starts with a group stage where 12 teams are divided into four groups, and the winner of each group advances to the final. Each group competes across four different areas along Sweden’s east coast, and the final takes place in Sweden’s perch fishing mecca, Kalmarsund. Each team’s five heaviest perch count towards the final result, and the team with the highest total weight is crowned the winner.
Live sonar and 360 transducers are not allowed during Söder Sportfiske productions.

Söder's Perch Fight – Europe’s most entertaining perch fishing competition!
PerchFight is Söder Sportfiske’s very own perch fishing competition, where Team Söder Sportfiske challenges the biggest brands in sport fishing to see who truly are the best at perch fishing.
With modern perch fishing in focus
In PerchFight, the competition is fierce among the participating teams. Each team consists of some of Sweden’s top perch anglers, all up to date on the latest lures and most effective techniques such as jerkbait fishing, Carolina rig, Texas rig, dropshot, free rig and other finesse techniques, traditional jig fishing and much more. In PerchFight, you’ll discover the best lures for perch and learn from the pros how to use them in the most effective way.

More about PerchFight
PerchFight is Söder Sportfiske’s own perch fishing competition, where Team Söder Sportfiske challenges the biggest brands in sport fishing to see who truly are the best at perch fishing.
The competition is spread out over several filming days, with different fishing waters each day. Points are awarded to the teams based on who catches the five largest* perch during each filming day, with the winners receiving the most points. In addition to the results from each day’s fishing, teams can also earn Big Five** points for the five largest fish of the entire competition across all days.
At the end of the competition, the points from the fishing days and the Big Five are combined, and the team with the highest total score is crowned the winner! Each filming day is divided into two episodes—one covering the morning session and one covering the afternoon session.
*Since PerchFight 2025, perch size is measured by weight; in previous seasons, perch were measured by length with a minimum size of 30 cm.
**Big Five is not part of the rules in PerchFight 2026.
PerchFight is filmed every year in late summer, and each new season is released weekly on Söder Sportfiske’s YouTube channel during the following spring, usually premiering in March.
PerchFight is filmed in various locations across Sweden, with different competition areas for each season. The series has been recorded in both freshwater and archipelago environments. Each season, the fishing waters are carefully selected to ensure a challenging experience for the competing teams and to create the most entertaining viewing experience possible.
In addition to Team Söder Sportfiske, who act as both the постоян challenger and organizer, the participating teams vary each season. PerchFight has featured some of the biggest brands in European sport fishing, such as Abu Garcia, Catch With Care, Daiwa, Shimano, SvartZonker, Westin Fishing, Rapala and many more.
The competition has also been joined by well-known fishing profiles including Claes “SvartZonker” Claesson, Pelle Seth, Adam Orre, Stefan “Trumman” Trumstedt, Tobias Fränstam, Mark Nordänger and others.
Team Söder Sportfiske has been represented by Henrik Sandahl, Nicklas Jonsson, Petter Eriksson, Manuel Fyrestam and Erik Petersson.
No. PerchFight is an exclusive competition where Söder Sportfiske challenges leading brands in the sport fishing industry, with invited brands selecting which anglers will represent them in the competition.
